Wings win Friday’s home opener 4-1

The Aberdeen Wings began the 2020-2021 season Friday night at the Odde with a 4-1 win over the St. Cloud Norsemen.

Thomas Manty got the scoring started with the first period’s sole goal, with the assists going to Jakob Stender and Clayton Cosentino. St. Cloud tied things up early in the second with a Jack Suchy goal.

Under a minute later Aberdeen retook the lead off a goal from Nathan Mann, with the assist from Kevin MacKay.  Jackson Yee added to the lead at the midway point of the game with a goal assisted by Mann & Cosentino.  Liam Fraser would closed out the game with a goal at the 7:50 mark of the third period. Getting the assist on the Fraser goal was Payton Matsui.  Jake Sibell was solid in the net, allowing one goal on 17 shots.
