Wings Split With Chill

ONALASKA, Wis. — Goals were at a premium Saturday but Aberdeen ended up with enough, as the Wings skated to a 2-1 victory over the Coulee Region chill.

 Steven Johnson’s third-period goal was the difference, as he scored with assists from Jonathan Grebosky and Patrick Steinhauser a little more than four minutes into the third period.

 Each team had a goal in the opening period, with the Wings finding the net first. Tanner Holmquist notched his fourth goal of the season to get the scoring started, with assists going to Peter Krieger and Justin Parizek. Coulee Region tied the game five minutes later on a goal from Travis Underwood. The Wings had a 19-7 advantage on shots in the opening period, and 38-30 for the game.

Paige Skoog was in net for the Wings, which improved to 6-11-0 with the victory, stopping 29 shots. His counterpart for the Chill, Blake Cates, made 36 saves. Coulee fell to 3-10-4 with the loss
