Wings Split Weekend Series With Magicians

Oct 10, 2015

The Aberdeen Wings closed out the weekend series with the Minnesota Magicians Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center.  Aberdeen’s Kieran Durgan got the scoring started midway through the 1st with assists going to Tanner Okeson and Brendan Riordan.  Minutes late Minnesota would tie the game up and eventually take a brief 1 goal lead.  The Wings weren’t done though as Tucker DeYoung was able to beat the Magicians goaltender on a nice tic tac toe passing play from Matt Sherman and Carter Roo.  The teams would go into the 1st intermission tied 1-1.

Tyler Bump of the Magicians had the only tally of the 2nd as Minnesota took a 3-2 lead into the 3rd period.  Despite a late surge the Wings were unable to tie the game and Minnesota added an empty net goal as time expired and fell to the Magicians 4-2.  The Wings are back in action next Friday night when they host the Bismarck Bobcats at the Odde.  Tickets are available at the Wolf Stop and all 3 C-Express locations.  Doors open at 5:30 and the puck drops at 7:15.
