Wings Fly to 1st Place with Sweep

Aberdeen 4 @ MN Magicians 2 – The Wings trailed 2-0 after the first 20 minutes but four unanswered goals gave them a 4-2 victory over the Magicians. Jon Sladic scored twice for the Wings while Logan Britt and Nathan Burke also tallied a goal in the win. Gabe Vinal got the win between the pipes as he made 24 saves. Cameron Buhl scored both of the Magicians goals. George McBey stopped 27 of 30 shots he faced.

Aberdeen 6 @ MN Magicians 5 (OT) – Colton Fletcher scored the game winning goal in overtime and lifter the Aberdeen Wings to a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Magicians. John Sladic, Nathan Burke and Zach Noble all had a goal and an assist. Johnathan Bendorf and Dalton Weigel also scored for the Wings. Matt. Vernon got the win in net as he made 22 saves. Bram Scheerer scored twice, Charlie Weiand scored and had an assist. John Keranen and Ethan DeStefani also scored for the Magicians.

With the weekend sweep the Wings have moved into a 3 point lead atop the NAHL Central Division with 40 points.  Austin and the Wilderness are tied at 37 then Bismarck, Minot & Brookings.  The Wings return home for the next 5 straight at the Odde.  This coming weekend the Wings will be taking on the Bismarck Bobcats!  $10 general admission tickets are on sale now at any of the 4 C-Express locations in Aberdeen!
