Wings Fans Give Back In A BIG Way!

Mar 4, 2020

Wings Owner Nancy Odde presented a check to Sherry Decorsey from Kids Against Hunger for $800.  Aberdeen Wings staff sold the stuffed animals prior to the Yelduz Shrine Teddy Bear Toss Saturday February 22nd.  All the money from the sales went directly to Kids Against Hunger.  The mission of Kids Against Hunger, a humanitarian food-aid organization, is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Kids Against Hunger is not affiliated with or restricted to a particular religious group and does not discriminate on any basis when distributing its meals. Some of the organization’s volunteers and affiliates are driven by their love of God and helping to feed all of His children, but all religions and non-religious groups are welcome to volunteer, donate, and help in any way.

On top of the financial donation Wings fans also threw 1,439 stuffed animals onto the ice after Mack Byers scored in the 1st period.  This is the largest number of stuffed animals to date.  The Yelduz Shrine will be taking those animals to area donation sites as well at the Shriner’s Children’s Clinic in the Twin Cities.
