Wings Fall To Bobcats

Oct 17, 2015

The Aberdeen Wings played host to the Bismarck Bobcats Friday night at the Odde Ice Center.  The game was the first meeting of the season and the first match up in the Titan Machinery Dakota Cup Battle.  The Wings struggled out of the gate falling behind 2-0 just a little over 5 minutes into the contest.  After a change in net the Wings seemed to settle down and went into the 1st intermission trailing 2-0.

The 2nd period started with the Wings applying the pressure and forcing two early power plays.  The first allowed Colin Raver to get the Wings on the board just 3:42 into the period.  Tanner Okeson and Ryan Cook assisted on the goal.  Minutes later Gavin Payne would do the same with a power play goal of his own, Okeson and Carter Roo would supply the assists on the game tying goal.   Bismarck would get a late goal to go into the locker room with a 3-2 lead.

The 3rd was all Bismarck as they add a goal midway through, and then an empty netter with less then a minute to go.  The Wings have Saturday off, and will be back in action next Friday at the Odde when they host the Austin Bruins.  Friday night is Pink in the Rink night!  Be sure to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness in NE South Dakota!
