Nov 25, 2014

The Aberdeen Wings were in action Wednesday in a pre-Thanksgiving game at the Odde Ice Center against the Minot Minotauros. The Wings battled, but in the final seconds of overtime came up short 3-2.

The first period was a quick one. Only a handful of stoppages and one penalty. The period ended scoreless.

The Minot Minotauros controlled most of the second period, scoring twice. At 10:14, scoring was Minot’s Christian Mohs. Shortly after, Minot would get another goal from Luke Davison. While on the power play at the 13:59 mark, the Wings would get on the scoreboard with a goal from #11 Victor Ostling (F-Stockholm, Sweden), his first career NAHL goal. The assists would be credited to #4 Eric Moser (D-Chicago, IL) and #8 Drew Doyon (F-Indianapolis, IN). The period would end with the Wings down 2-1.

The third period would be a back and forth battle. Puck possession and heavy hits would be the tempo and pace of the period. Again, Aberdeen would tie the game up late in the period with a goal from #25 Tucker DeYoung (F-Lake Bluff, IL) with assists to #14 Collin Hughes (F-Lino Lakes, MN) and #11 Victor Ostling. The period would end 2-2.
