Wings Fall In Minot Monday

Nov 12, 2019

Aberdeen 1 @ Minot 4 – Minotauros goaltender Ben Garrity made a season-high 45 saves to lead his team to a 4-1 home win over the Aberdeen Wings in the lone NAHL game on Monday night.
It was the Wings who struck for the game’s first goal as Mack Byers scored his first goal in his first game with the Wings this season. Minot was able to tie the game later in the 1st period on the 5th goal of the season for Jay Buchholz.
Minot took control in the 2nd period with three goals in a span of less than three minutes. Owen Baumgartner scored at the 6:47 mark, Ville Immonen scored at the 8:39 mark, and then less than a minute later, Kyler Kleven scored to make it 4-1. As a result, the Wings pulled starting goalie Jake Sibell in favor of Henry Welsch.
The rest of the game went scoreless, which included 21 saves from Garrity in the 3rd period alone, thwarting any attempt of a Wings comeback. Sibell stopped 10 of 14 shots in the loss, while Welsch stopped all 12 shots that came his way.
With the win, the Minotauros moved into 3rd place alone in the Central Division, two points ahead of the Wings and Austin Bruins, who are tied for 4th place.
