Wings Defenseman Drafted 4th Rnd, LA Kings

On Saturday, the National Hockey League held their 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Two Aberdeen Wings alumni were selected.

Former Wings defenseman Steven Johnson was selected 120th overall in the 4th Round by the Los Angeles Kings, the reigning 2014 Stanley Cup Champions.

Johnson played for the Aberdeen Wings the entire 2012-2013 season. He gathered 6 goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 59 games played. During the off-season, Johnson was drafted by the Omaha Lancers of the USHL were he played the 2013-2014 season notching 5 goals and 26 assists for 31 points.

The Excelsior, MN native will now report to Kings Rookie Camp.
