Wings Continue Off-Season Workouts

Jun 15, 2015

With the 2015-2016 season starting to come together, it’s time to check in with those players slated to return to Aberdeen for another season in the NAHL.

Much of the off-season for players has been workouts both on the ice and off the ice. Weight training and healthy eating regiments were also a big part of the off-season workouts. Some players have returned home to work out in facilities that they are accustomed to. Others have gone to hockey strength and conditioning training facilities.

Slated to return for the 2015-2016 is Wings defenseman Tanner Okeson from Roseau, Minnesota. His off-season workout has been everything that Coach Francis Anzalone asked of them. Okeson said most days he is eating healthy and working out. Some days he has the chance to train on a strength condition treadmill designed for ice skates.

“I hit the treadmill to really help me get my edges some good work,” said Okeson, who had 7 goals and 18 assists last season. “It really helps make your strides and skating stronger.”

Those players who will be returning to the Wings, along with the recent draft picks and signed free agents will report to the 2015 Aberdeen Wings Main Camp in Mendota Heights, Minnesota in mid-July.
