Wings close out exhibition schedule with 7-3 win vs. Austin

Oct 4, 2020

The Aberdeen Wings’ offense was clicking Saturday night at the Odde as the Wings cruised to a 7-3 win over the Austin Bruins.

The win closes out the Wings’ exhibition schedule, going 4-2 and putting up an impressive 32 goals in the 6 games played.

On Saturday night, it was Michael Reed who got the scoring started with a steal, shot and goal all below the hash marks to put the Wings up 1-0 in the first period. Jordan Randall and Cade Neilson assisted on the goal.

The second period was full of action as Aberdeen put a 4 spot on the board to take a 5-0 lead into the final 20 minutes. Scoring for the Wings were Natan Vertes, Nathan Mann, Thomas Manty and Marshall Walker.

Manty and Vertes would each add another in the third, and the Bruins would get three goals of their own, but ultimately it would be too little, too late as Dominik Wasik was solid in net, stopping 17 of 20 shots he faced.

The Wings are back at the Odde for the regular season home opening weekend next Friday and Saturday when they take on the St. Cloud Norsemen. Tickets are ON SALE NOW! Visit AberdeenWings.com/Tickets to get your individual game tickets or season tickets NOW!
