Aberdeen 6 @ Brookings 3 – Six different Aberdeen players found the scoresheet as the Wings doubled up the Blizzard 6-3 to take over 1st place in the Central Division. Nathan Burke led all Wings with a pair of points. John Sladic, Evan Rochowiak, Riley Murphy, Adam Pitters and Jonathan Bendorf all found the back of the net in the victory. Gabe Vinal picked up his eighth win of the year as he made 27 saves. Vince Marino, Derek Hammer and Dylan Schuett scored for Brookings while Zachary Borgiel made 30 saves.
Brookings 3 @ Aberdeen 7 – Two goals and two assists from Nathan Burke propelled the Aberdeen Wings to a 7-3 win over the Brookings Blizzard. Joe Strada scored a goal and two assists and John Sladic had a goal and an assist. Colton Fletcher, Nic Sicoly and Evan Rochowiak all scored as well for the Wings. Matt Vernon picked up the win between the pipes as he made 32 saves. Parker Revering had a goal and an assist for Brookings while Josh Boyer and Haiden Karnick scored as well.
With the weekend sweep of the Blizzard the Wings have moved themselves into sole possession of 1st place in the NAHL Central Division. The Wings will be on the road this coming weekend when they take on the Minnesota Magicians. They return to the Odde for the first 2 of 5 straight at home January 12th & 13th vs. Bismarck.
