The Aberdeen Wings snagged the elusive “X” next to their name in the NAHL standings, officially earning a playoff spot for the 2020-21 season.

The Wings lead the Central Division with 71 points earned in 38 games played.

After Austin’s win over St. Cloud Monday night, Aberdeen officially had enough points to earn a berth in the playoffs.

Here’s a look at the rest of the current Division leaders:

  • East Division: Johnstown Tomahawks sit at the top with 56 points in 37 games, but the Maine Nordiques are right behind them with 53 points in 40 games.
  • Midwest Division: The Janesville Jets have grabbed 40 points in 30 games to lead the division, but the MN Magicians are right on their tail with 39 points in 28 games.
  • South Division: Four teams are all within eight points of each other, but the Shreveport Mudbugs have currently snagged the top spot with 55 points in 37 games. The Lonestar Brahmas sit in second with 53 points in 40 games, while the Amarillo Bulls and the Wichita Falls Warriors are putting on the pressure with 49 points and 47 points, respectively.

The Wings are on the road this weekend to play the Minnesota Wilderness; puck drops at 7:15 p.m. at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet, MN.
