Wings beat Blizzard 3-2

The Aberdeen Wings were in exhibition action Friday night against the Brookings Blizzard. Wings' new addition TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN) scored a goal in the first period, only to be answered by two goals from Brookings. The score was 2-1 heading into the first intermission and neither team would score in the 2nd. Remaining down 2-1 with 5:42 left to play in the game the Wings scored on a shot from veteran defenseman Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). That knotted the score at 2-2. Just one minute later, the Wings would get their go-ahead goal from Roo, his second of the game. The Wings outshot the Blizzard 58-33.

The Aberdeen Wings are at home Saturday, September 14th for a team scrimmage which is open to the public with FREE admission, game-like atmosphere, and promotions. Beer sales, concessions, and new merchandise will also be available. Pregame introductions begin at 7:15pm at the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen.

The Wings will partake in the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN beginning Wednesday, September 18th. The regular season opener will be Friday, September 27th at Brookings and the home opener for the Wings will be Saturday, September 28th at the Odde Ice Center against the Blizzard.
