Wings Announce Leadership Committee

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announced Thursday the remainder of the Team Leadership.  Joining Captain Riley Sharun will be second year defenseman Zach Reim, first year forward Simon Pollock and second year forward Bennett Koupal.  “This is a good group of players that care a lot about their teammates, they care a lot about the logo and our identity as a team. I look forward to helping them lead this team” Wings Head Coach & GM Scott Langer.

Reim has 5 goals and 26 assists in 42 NAHL games.  The 6’1 176lb defenseman from North Oaks, MN served as captain of Gentry Academy during the 2020-2021 season.  “It’s an honor and a privilege to wear a letter for such a great organization. We have a special group in our dressing room and I am looking forward to growing together this season trying to bring the Robertson Cup back to Aberdeen.” Zach Reim

Pollock had 20 points, 10 goals and 10 assists in 44 games played last season for the Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL.  The 6’2 185lb forward was the 2nd pick for the Wings in the 2023 NAHL Draft.  “It’s an honour to represent the Aberdeen wings organization and community as a leader. I’m thankful for my team mates, coaches, and billets for giving me this opportunity. I’m super excited for us to have a great season! #wingsnation” Simon Pollock

Koupal returns to the Wings after playing in 44 games last season and accumulating 151 penalty minutes and scoring 2 goals and 2 assists.  He is a 6’1 192lb forward from Sioux Falls, SD.  “I am honored to wear a letter in a place that has so much history, and a winning culture. Excited to get to work with this group of guys. ” Bennett Koupal

 

The Wings are on the road this weekend in Minot.  Puck drops both Friday & Saturday at 7:35pm.  You can watch the games at City Lights Bar & Event Center in Aberdeen or on NAHLTV.com. They return to the Odde October 13th & 14th to take on the defending Central Division Champion Austin Bruins.  It is Children’s Miracle Network Jersey Auction Weekend!  The Wings will wear special jerseys all weekend that will be auctioned off following Saturday’s game with auctioneer Val Jark of Jark Worlie Auctions.
