Here is a look at what former Wings Players have been up to so far this season!
Nathan Smith (2016-17)
Nathan Smith is currently playing with the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL. Smith currently has 8 goals and 12 assists in 25 games played. He played 4 games with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL last season and 64 games with the Roadrunners where he accumulated 12 goals and 15 assists.
Pierson Brandon (2018-20)
Pierson Brandon is playing his fourth season at Division I Colgate University. Brandon has 10 points, 3 goals, and 7 assists in 16 games played so far this season.
Matt Vernon (2017-19)
Matt Vernon is playing his first full season in the ECHL after finishing his college career at Colorado College. Vernon has played 14 games for the Jacksonville Icemen and has a 2.70 GAA with a .901 SV%.
Riley Murphy (2016-20)
RIley Murphy is playing in his second season with Adrian College after 2 years with the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Last season, Murphy helped Adrian to a runner up finish in the DIII National Championship game. At Adrian, he has 18 goals and 10 assists in 32 games played.
Nathan Burke (2016-18)
Nathan Burke is playing in his second professional season after finishing a college career with the University of Minnesota and Bowling Green State University. Burke has spent time between the ECHL and the AHL over the past two seasons. This year, he has played in 27 games for the Utah Grizzlies scoring 10 goals and 9 assists. He has also played in 1 game for the Ontario Reign of the AHL.
Clayton Cosentino (2019-21)
The former Wings Captain, Clayton Cosentino, is now wearing the “A” for the Air Force Academy in his third season with the Falcons. Cosentino has played in 94 total games for the Air Force where he has 19 goals and 43 assists, including 6 goals and 11 assists in 22 games played so far this season.
Logan Britt (2016-18)
Logan Britt is currently in his first season with the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks after spending two years with Quinnipiac University and two years with Sacred Heart University. Britt has played in 20 games for UND this year, and the defensemen has 2 goals and 4 assists.
Henry Welsch (2018-20)
Henry Welsch is playing in his fourth year for Division I UMASS Lowell. This season, Welsch has a 2.19 GAA and a .920 SV% in 13 games played. He has played in 47 total DI games, and has a career 2.37 GAA and .910 SV%.
Zach Aughe (2019-20)

Stepan Pokorny (2018-19)

Cooper Haar is in his fourth season with Canisius College. In his career, Haar has played in 53 games, and has 3 goals and 15 assists.
Payton Matsui (2020-21)
Payton Matsui is currently playing in his third season at Alaska Fairbanks. So far this season, Matsui has 4 goals and 7 assists in 20 games played. In total, he has 16 goals and 28 assists in 80 games played. 2 of those goals, and 1 assist, has been in the last 5 games played and is a +2 in those games.
Colton Huard (2017-19)
Colton Huard is playing in his third season with the University of New Hampshire. Since leaving the Wings, Huard spent time with the Fargo Force and the Chicago Steel, where he won the USHL Clark Cup before enrolling at UNH. Cullen Ferguson (2020-21)
Cullen Ferguson is now playing in his third season at Union College after last seeing him in the 2021 NAHL Robertson Cup National Championship game. The defensemen has 3 goals and 18 assists in 90 games played.
Bauer Barry(2021-22)
Bauer Barry is in his second season with Concordia College. After playing in 32 games for the Wings during the 21-22 season, Bauer has 14 points (1 goal and 13 assists) in 37 games played.
Trevor Russell (2019-21)
In Trevor Russell’s third year at Michigan Tech, the defenseman has played in 54 games for the Huskies. Russell has 4 goals and 3 assists since leaving the Wings after serving as an Assistant Captain.
Thomas Rocco (2018-19)
Since leaving the Wings, forward Thomas Rocco spent three seasons with the St. Cloud State Huskies before transferring to SUNY-Oswego to finish his college career. Rocco has 2 goals and 3 assists in just 13 games played so far this season, and a total of 7 goals and 9 assists in 50 collegiate hockey games.
Jake Goldowski (2020-21)
Former Wings center, Jake Goldowski, has been all over since leaving the Wings. Goldowski spent time playing in Finland, Birmingham, Roanoke, Evansville, Macon, and Jacksonville. He is currently in Macon where he has 6 goals and 11 assists in 24 games played.
Joey Molenaar (2017-18)
Joey Molenaar is playing in his fourth season with the St. Cloud State Huskies where he has 10 points, 7 goals and 3 assists, in 18 games played. After leaving the Wings, he played with the Tri-City Storm and the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL.
Mack Byers (2019-20)
Mack Byers is currently in his second year playing for the University of St. Thomas after two years with Northern Michigan. In his college career, Byers has played in 93 NCAA Division I games and has 31 goals and 16 assists, including St. Thomas’ first Division I Hat Trick earlier this season.
Jake Sibell (2019-20)
Jake Sibell is in his first season with the University of St. Thomas and after completing two years with Niagara University. This season, Sibell has played in 10 games and has a 1.93 GAA and a .931 SV%. He played in 14 games for Niagara.
Natan Vertes (2019-21)
Natan Vertes has been all over since leaving the Wings. Vertes is currently playing for Fehervar AV19 of the ICEHL, as well as the Hungarian National Team. Combined this year, he has played in 35 games and has 4 goals and 3 assists in those games.
Owen Dubois (2019-23)
Owen Dubois is in his first year at the Air Force Academy. Dubois has played in 20 games and has 4 points, 3 goals and 1 assist. This includes a 2-goal game earlier this season.
