The Aberdeen Wings have acquired defenseman Drew Holcombe and a conditional 2016 2nd Round draft pick from the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL for a 2014 tender.

Holcombe, from Cumming, Georgia ended last season with the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL South Division where he played 17 games scoring one assist. He was acquired by Odessa in a trade on January 29th from the Soo Eagles where he had 3 goals and 1 assist in 31 games played.

"Drew is a very competitive, good skating, two-way defenseman who plays with a lot of drive and passion,” said Wings head coach Francis Anzalone. “He is a player our staff liked at the midget level a few years back and he is a person we tracked last season in our league. We are excited to have Drew join our program."

The Aberdeen Wings are currently hosting their 2015 Pre-Draft Evaluation Camp in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The camp runs May 22-24.

Holcombe, returning Wings players, and those invited will be in Main Camp in July in hopes of being selected for training camp in late August in Aberdeen.
