Weekend Preview

Jan 26, 2016

Your Aberdeen Wings (13-16-7) will be looking to continue the climb up the Central Division ladder, and this week they will get three chances to do so.  Wednesday the Wings will continue the January travel with a quick roadie up to Bismarck to face off against the Bobcats (21-13-1).  Aberdeen will be looking for their first win against Bismarck this season.  The first period should be a strong indicator on how this game will play out.  Bismarck is notoriously a fast starting team, vs. the Wings this season the Bobcats have 8 first period goals.  Aberdeen on the other hand has yet to score in the 1st 20.   Aberdeen will be looking to spread the puck around and get as many players involved as possible.  So far Austin Heakins is the only Wing with more than 1 goal vs. Bismarck this year with 7 others stuck at 1.  Puck drop is 7:15 CST from the VFW Sports Center in Bismarck.  There will be a viewing party at the Aberdeen Ramkota for the game.

Friday and Saturday the Wings will return home to face the Minot Minotauros (20-16-3).  Minot is currently involved in a 3 way tie atop the Central Division standings, along with Austin and Bismarck.  Aberdeen is 2-2-2 vs. the Minotauros this season.  Carter Roo and Ryan Cook lead the Wings vs. Minot with 5 points each.  Both players have 2 goals and 3 assists.  Tucker DeYoung who was just named to the NAHL Central Division Top Prospects team also has 5 points all being assists.  Aberdeen will be hoping to feed off a strong home crowd as this is only the 2nd and 3rd home games in the month of January.  Aberdeen currently has a 7-9-2 home record while the Minotauros are 12-7-2 on the road.

This weekend is I hate winter weekend at the Odde!  Friday night you can also buy your ticket at full price and receive Saturday nights ticket ½ off!  (Offer only good Friday at the door).  Saturday get to the rink early and take advantage of the US Army giveaway & happy hour.  Plan on staying late with a kids 12 and under shootout & Skate with the Wings after the game!  Tickets available at the Wolf Stop and all 3 C-Express locations!  Doors open at 5:30 and the puck drops at 7:15!
