Two Former Wings Goaltenders Face Off

Saturday night saw two former Aberdeen Wings goaltender compete against each other in Division I hockey. Michigan Wolverines goaltender Zach Nagelvoort (Wings 2012-2013) and American International College goaltender Hunter Leisner (Wings 2010-2012) were in net for the 6-3 win for Michigan.

Nagelvoort is a sophomore at the University of Michigan. The past summer he was selected in the 4th round of the NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. Nagelvoort went on a hot-streak to end his NAHL career going 8-1-1 in his final 10 games. Last season with the Michigan Wolverines, he was 11-9-3 with a 2.20 goals against average. Nagelvoort stopped 21 of 24 shots on Saturday to get his 2nd win of the season.

Leisner played the first official game of the Aberdeen Wings franchise as goaltender. He played in 78 games for the Aberdeen Wings from 2010-2012. In four NAHL seasons, collected 69 wins and a 2.89 goals against average. Leisner has played in 31 games for American International College and made 40 saves on Saturday night.
