Team Central Wins Top Prospects Tournament

The Central Top Prospects team was able to go 3-0 during the NAHL Top Prospects tournament held this past Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Troy, Michigan.  Helping the Central to victory were three Aberdeen Wings.  Lane Mahoney Went into the tournament with 47 games played this season where he was able to acquire 29 points (6 goals, 23 assists) which put him in the top 10 for points from a defenseman.  He was able to tally 3 assists in the 3 games he played in Troy.  Lane also came away with a +3 +/- in the tournament. Assistant Captain Mack Ohnsted went into the Tournament with 35 points (5 goals, 30 assists) in 47 games played, which ties him for 2nd overall on the team.  Mack played in all 3 games and was able to come away with 2 assists and a +2 +/-.  Wings Captain Cory Ward leads the Wings so far this season in points with 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists) which is good enough for 8th overall in the NAHL.  Cory also played in all 3 games for Team Central.  He was able to leave Troy with a goal and an assists during the tournament.  He ended with a +1 +/- in the 3 games played. 

 

Ohnsted, Mahoney and Ward will be back in action this weekend when the Aberdeen Wings hosts the Austin Bruins in a very important 2 game series as the two teams are only separated by 1 point in the standings.  Presale tickets are available at the Wolf Stop and all 3 C-Express locations.  Buy your tickets for both games by Friday and you can get $5 off!  Doors open at 5:30 and the puck drops at 7:15!
