Scott Langer Named Head Coach!


[ABERDEEN] The Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) have completed their Head Coach search and have hired Coach Scott Langer. He becomes the 4th Head Coach in franchise history, and was signed to a three-year contract.

Langer has been coaching for 19 years, and served the last 12 of those seasons as Head Coach and General Manager of the NAHL Topeka Road Runners. He has a combined record of 437 wins, 179 loses, and 60 OTL in those 12 seasons, with an impressive .691 win percentage. 10 of those seasons had over 30 wins, while 4 of them had over 40 wins.

Named NAHL GM of the year in 2010, and Coach of the Year in 2011, Langer has also been a coach at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament 8 times. He has a very successful track record for graduating student-athletes and has helped place over 200 junior hockey players into NCAA college programs or Professional hockey. In 2015, Coach Langer had a player drafted 90th overall in the NHL draft. Langer’s teams have finished no less than second place in their division, including several Division Championships, 1 Regular Season League Championship, and 2 trips to the Robertson Cup Tournament.
