Former Aberdeen Wings forward Mack Ohnsted not only melted the ice at the Odde Ice Center, but after moving on to collegiate hockey has been named to the MIAC All-Conference Team.
Ohnsted, a sophomore at Augsburg College, receives the honor after an impressive season tallying 6 goals and 19 assists. He was ranked 2nd this season in assists and tied for 6th in total points. Augsburg however loss to St. Olaf 5-4 in overtime which ended their playoff hunt. Ohnsted scored a goal in that game. A chemical engineering major, Ohnsted has been on the Dean’s list academically each semester at Augsburg. Last season he put up 2 goals and 8 assists.
While with the Aberdeen Wings, Ohnsted had great numbers. After a 13 point rookie season, he proceeded to record 6 goals and 34 assists his next season. His 47 assists ranks him tied for 3rd on the Wings all-time roster with current forward #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA).
