Matt Vernon & Andy Carroll Sign Professional Contracts

Former Aberdeen Wings Matt Vernon and Andy Carroll signed professional contracts.  Matt Vernon has signed with the Reading Royals of the ECHL.  He recently finished his career with Colorado College playing in 67 games with a 3.16 Goals Against Average and a .899 Save Percentage.  Matt played with the Wings from 2017-2019 including leading them to the 2019 NAHL Robertson Cup National Championship.  Reading is an affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Philadelphia Flyers

Andy Carroll has signed with the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League.  Carroll appeared in 169 games, the third most of any Maverick in school history.  He scored 14 goals and registered 50 assists for 64 career points while finishing +70 and blocking 112 shots.  He played on five MacNaughton Cup championship teams, earned one Jeff Sauer WCHA Championship trophy, two Mason Cup championship teams, qualified for three NCAA Tournaments, two Frozen Fours and earned one trip to the national championship game.  Abbotsford is an affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks.
