Your Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce that forward Mack Byers has announced his commitment to play Division I Hockey at The Northern Michigan University.  Mack is new to the Wings this season but has already made in impact.  The Long Lake, MN native has 5 points, 2 goals, 3 assists, in just 5 games played for the Wings.  Prior to coming to Aberdeen Mack spent time in the BCHL as well as the USHL.  Mack is a 5’11 172LBS 20 year old left handed forward.

“Mack has been a great addition to this year’s team.  He not only cares a great deal about his game, but he also cares for his teammates.  His work ethic and determination will make him a solid Wildcat.”  Wings Head Coach Scott Langer

Northern Michigan University is located in Marquette, MI.  They play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).  They are currently 7-5-2 overall and 5-3 in the WCHA.  This weekend they will be playing @ Alabama Huntsville.  The Wildcats are coached by former Minnesota Gopher great, Grant Potulny.  Coach Potulny is in his 3rd season as Head Coach.

“I am very excited for what the future holds at Northern Michigan.  I can’t wait to be a part of such a great program.  I would like to thank the Odde Family, my coaches, teammates  and the Aberdeen Wings organization for providing me with this opportunity.  I’m looking forward to the rest of the season in Aberdeen.”  Mack Byers
