The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the NAHL, are pleased to announce that Head Coach Scott Langer has been promoted to General Manager, in addition to his head coaching duties.
Greg Odde and Pete Sauer have shared the General Manager title up to this point, and Coach Langer was the Director of Hockey Operations. Pete will continue with his work as the Director os Sales & Marketing, along with community involvement with the team.
“Scott Langer has brought a level of experience and professionalism that have moved the Aberdeen Wings to the top of the Junior hockey world on and off the ice”, according to Wings President and Owner Greg Odde. “The transition to General Manager was a natural fit, and a well deserved title.”
Coach Langer has an impressive 534 career wins, and has helped hundreds of junior hockey players move on to the next level. With the Wings, he has helped the team to set several new franchise records, as well as win 2 divisional titles. Langer was named Central Division Coach of the year in 2016-2017. He has previously won both NAHL Coach of the Year and NAHL GM of the Year. In February, he will make his 10th appearance as a coach at the NAHL Top Prospects tournament.
“It’s a great privilege to have the Odde family continue to invest in me,” said Scott Langer. “I am looking forward to continuing to be a part in the growth of the Aberdeen Wings organization.”
