“Kyle is an extremely smart hockey player that thrives at making plays,” Wings head coach Scott Langer said. “Throughout his career, he has consistently been able to show up at big times. This season has been no different, and he has become a big piece of the Aberdeen Wings.”

Gaffney will join former Wings players Riley Murphy, Antonio Di Paolo and Jakob Breault, as well as current Wings Natan Vertes, Payton Matsui & Cade Neilson, in Alaska fall of 2022.

“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division I College Hockey at the University of Alaska Fairbanks,” he said. “I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, teammates, billet family and everyone else who has helped me get here!”
