Horton Star Of The Month, Dill & Heller Honored

The North American Hockey League announced Tuesday the Players Of The Month for February.

Wings defenseman #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN) was named the Defenseman Of The Month by the NAHL. Horton, who recently made a Division I commitment to the UMass Minutemen had three goals and 5 assists in February. Mid-month he also participated in the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Troy, Michigan representing Team Central. Since the start of the season, Horton has led all NAHL defensemen in goals scored.

Wings forward #15 Jordan Heller (F-Bemidji, MN) received an honorable mention among forwards. Throughout February, he compiled 4 goals and 7 assists. Heller made a Division I college commitment earlier in the season to Bemidji State University.

Wings rookie goaltender #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) was listed as honorable mention among goaltenders in February. One could argue that Dill had the best performance in the league racking up a 6-1-0 records, stopping 178 of 187 shots for a 95% save percentage and a 1.71 goals against average.

Also receiving the Top Forward of the Month award was former Wings forward Tyler Poulsen, currently with the Topeka Roadrunners. Poulsen scored 21 goals and 22 assists for the Wings their first ever season in 2010-2011. This season Poulsen has compiled 24 goals and 28 assists for the Roadrunners.
