This weekend the Aberdeen Wings travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Wenatchee Wild both Friday and Saturday. With home-ice clinched for the first round of the 2014 NAHL Playoffs, the Wings sit only one point behind Austin for the top spot in the NAHL Central Division. The Aberdeen Wings (36-18-4) will travel the 1,200 miles to face the Wenatchee Wild (29-22-7) who are in a three-team race for the final two playoff spots in their division.

With the Wings being in only their 4th season of existence, these two teams have not faced each other much. This will be only the third game between the two organizations. Back in the 2011-2012 season, the Wings faced Wenatchee at the NAHL Showcase Tournament winning 2-1. This season, the Wenatchee Wild came to the Odde Ice Center back in December for two games. The Wild won the first game 4-2 but the Wings would get revenge with a 3-2 win on Saturday night.

Wings forward #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI) has shown the most success against the Wild this season scoring three goals. Forward #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN) has a goal and an assist against the Wild with forward #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA) has tallied two assists.

Wings goaltender #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) faced the Wild both games this season. Against Wenatchee, Dill has a 90% save percentage stopping 55 of 61 shots. For the year, the Wings have two of the top goaltenders in the league with Dill (19-7-1, 2.35 GAA) and #1 Chad Catt (G-Williamstown, MI) who has a 94% save percentage and a 17-11-1 record.

Both games will air at 9:05 CST on Friday and Saturday with live play-by-play on 107.7 KABD-FM or watch/listen on FASTHockey.com.
