Your Aberdeen Wings (38-16-3-1) will close out the regular season this weekend at the Minot Minotauros (27-25-4-2) in what will be a 1st round Robertson Cup Playoff preview. The Wings clinched the top spot in the Central division with a Saturday night win over Minot 2 weeks ago and Minot was able to use an Aberdeen win last Friday night to lock up the 4th and final playoff spot. Both teams are two of the hottest teams in the league as of late. The Wings went 9-1 in March with their only loss coming to Minot at the Odde Ice Center. That loss was Minot’s 6th straight win, and they went 6-4 in March. The meeting a few weeks ago was the teams 1st since mid December. With both teams locked in to their respective spots in the playoffs, you can expect a lot of feeling out periods and a lot of mental games between the coaches not trying to give anything away before the 2nd season begins.
Puck drop for both games this weekend is scheduled for 7:35pm CST. You can watch the games at Buffalo Wings & Rings in Aberdeen or by logging on to HockeyTV.com.
