Aberdeen Wings (NAHL) – Equipment Manager

The Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL, are seeking an Equipment Manager. The Wings are located in Aberdeen, SD The Equipment Manager is responsible for overall equipment of the team, such as skate sharpening, equipment orders, equipment repairs, cleanliness of team facilities/locker room, and communicating with Head Coach daily for other tasks.  Must be willing to travel, works nights and weekends.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

–   Making sure players have what they need for practices and games
–   Doing team laundry after every practice and on game days
–   Sharpen skates daily
–   Sewing to repair all socks, jerseys, and all equipment repairs
–   Strong communication with staff and players
–   Overall cleanliness of team facilities and locker room

  • Prepares budget and estimates for equipment
  • Establishes, Maintains and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the organization

Qualifications:
Equipment manager experience preferred, but not required

Aberdeen Wings (NAHL) – Head Athletic Trainer

The Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL, are seeking a Head Athletic Trainer. The Wings are located in Aberdeen, SD.   This position will provide athletic training services to the Wings hockey team.  The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the Wings program.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services for the Wings athletes, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary
  • Evaluate, treat and assist in the rehabilitation of injuries to athletes
  • Review and document injuries
  • Make referrals for appropriate medical care
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Doctor and Head Coach

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field. Master’s degree with prior experience in athletic training and/or strength & conditioning
  • Current certification from NATA Board of Certification
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certified
  • Must be eligible/maintain South Dakota athletic training licensure
