Daniel Billett, Throw Back Thursday!

In a back and forth game your Aberdeen Wings used a overtime power play goal to come away with a 5-4 victory Saturday October 11th 2014 at the Odde Ice Center.  Wings forward Austin Heakins would get things started late in the 1st period, putting the Wings up 1-0.  Assisting on the Heakins goal were Jack Nile & Tanner Okeson  That lead wouldn’t last long however as the Bruins would get one back with 58 seconds remaining in the 1st.  Wings Collin Hughes would re-give the Wings the advantage at the 12:07 mark of the 2nd period with assists going to Will Hammer & Tucker DeYoung.  Austin would once again respond late in the period making it a 2 all tie after 2.  This time it would be Austin striking first just over a minute into the 3rd period, making it Aberdeen’s turn to respond, and that they did.  Michael Soucier would tie the game and just over a minute later Austin Swingle would give the Wings a 4-3 lead.  Assists were credited to Ronnie Hein & Kyle Haak on the Soucier goal and Okeson & Colin O’Neill on the Swingle goal.  That however wouldn’t be enough as the Bruins would get another late period goal, sending the game into overtime.  At the 2:10 mark of the extra period it would be Daniel Billett getting the game winning goal on the power play with assists going to Hein & Soucier.  Chad Catt was in goal for the Wings and made 28 saves on 32 shots.
