Alumni Update: Fraser’s hat trick and weekly honors

Alumni update for Feb. 16, 2023:

  • Tim Makowski (2016-19) scored a goal in St. Lawrence’s 4-2 win against Clarkson on Jan. 27.
  • Kyle Gaffney (2020-22) assisted on a goal in Alaska-Fairbanks’ 4-3 win over Alaska-Anchorage on Jan 29. He also recorded an assist in a 5-3 win against FIU on Feb. 10.
  • Payton Matsui (2020-21) scored the game-winning goal in Alaska-Fairbanks’ 4-3 win over Alaska-Anchorage on Jan. 29. He also scored in a 2-1 win against Arizona State on Feb. 3, and followed that up with two assists in a 5-2 against the same team the next night. He also tallied an assist in a 5-3 win against FIU on Feb. 10. Matsui is the leader for most points for Alaska-Fairbanks with 19 on the year.
  • Nathan Smith (2016-17) scored a goal Tucson Roadrunners’ 5-2 win against Abbotsford.
  • Mack Byers (2019-20) scored the game-winning goal in St. Thomas’ 3-2 overtime win against nationally-ranked No. 13 Minnesota State on Feb 3. He leads his team in goals (14) and points (19) on the year. He also scored an empty net goal in a 4-2 win against Northern Michigan on Feb 11.
  • Liam Fraser (2020-21) had a hat trick in the first two periods in St. Norbert’s 4-3 against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Feb. 4. He also added an assist for a four-point game.
  • Colton Fletcher (2016-18) recorded an assist in the Knoxville Ice Bears’ 7-3 win against the Macon Mayhem on Feb. 4. He also added a goal in a 5-1 win over the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on Feb. 10.
  • Andy Carroll (2016-17) recorded a goal in Minnesota State Mankato’s 3-2 overtime loss to St. Thomas on Feb. 3. He scored another goal in their 5-2 win the next night against the same team. His performance earned him the CCHA Defenseman of the Week honors, his second time winning this season.
  • Nathan Burke (2016-18) tallied a goal and an assist in Bowling Green’s 5-4 shootout loss to Ferris State on Feb. 4. He recorded another goal in a 5-2 win against Michigan Tech on Feb. 10, and another goal in a 4-2 loss to Tech on Feb. 11.
  • Connor Beatty (2018-20) scored a goal and added an assist help Endicott beat Western New England 6-2 on Feb. 3. The next night, he scored a goal in a 4-2 win against Wentworth.
  • Logan Britt (2016-18) tallied an assist in Sacred Heart’s 4-1 loss against American International College on Feb. 4. and recorded another assist in a 4-3 loss against Air Force on Feb. 10.
  • Jake Goldowski (2020-21) recorded an assist in Macon Mayhem’s 4-3 loss against the Huntsville Havoc on Feb. 3. He also added a goal and an assist in a 4-3 shootout win against the Birmingham Bulls on Feb. 5.
  • Hugo Gustafsson (2021-22) tallied two assists for Vimmerby HC last week, brining his total point up to nine on the year.
  • Henry Welsch (2018-20) made 28 saves in UMass-Lowell’s 2-1 shootout win against Maine University on Feb. 12.
  • Colton Huard (2017-19) tallied an assist in New Hampshire’s 4-1 win against No. 13 UConn on Feb 10. He also got himself another assist the next night in a 3-2 win against UConn. Huard currently leads New Hampshire in assists with 15 on the year.
  • Thomas Manty (2020-21) has two goals and three assists in six games with Brown University.
  • Riley Murphy (2016-20) recorded a hat trick for Adrian College in a blowout 8-2 win against Aurora University on Feb 4. With that performance, he earned himself an NCAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week. He then scored a goal in a 6-1 win against St. Norbert on Feb 10.
  • Cullen Ferguson (2020-21) recorded an assist in Union College’s 3-1 win against Yale on Feb. 10.
  • Clayton Cosentino (2019-21) had an assist in Air Force’s 4-3 win over Sacred Heart on Feb. 10.
  • Stepan Pokorny (2018-19) tallied an assist in Ferris State’s 3-2 win against Bemidji State on Feb 10. He added another assist the next night in a 6-2 loss against the same team.
  • Adam Pitters (2016-19) assisted on a goal in Bowling Green’s 5-2 win against Michigan Tech on Feb. 10.
  • Cade Neilson (2019-22) tallied four assists for Team Great Britain’s in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge on Feb. 10-12.

  • Zach Aughe (2019-20) has two goals and and an assist in 21 games played this season at Lindenwood University.

  • Jacob Bossé (2021-22) has one assist in five games with Milwaukee School of Engineering.
  • Pierson Brandon (2018-20) has two goals and four assists in 24 games played this season with Colgate University. Over three seasons, he’s tallied eight goals and 23 assists in 83 games played.
  • Jakob Breault (2019-20) has ten goals and eleven assists in 21 games played at Utica College this season.
  • Nico deVita (2019-21) has appeared in six games so far this season at the University of New Hampshire.
  • Antonio DiPaolo (2019-20) has four assists in 21 games played so far for Univ. of Wisconsin-Superior.

  • Logan Jenuwine (2016-17) spent a year at Arizona State University before transferring to St. Lawrence, where he’s appeared in 44 games so far, notching 12 goals and 14 assists with the Lakers.
  • Jack Kelly (2016-18) is currently in his fourth year at St. Norbert College, where he’s appeared in 35 total games. So far this season, he has three assists in 21 games played.
  • Nick Leitner (2015-16) has four goals and four assists in 16 games played for the SPHL’s Pensacola Flyers.

  • John Sladic (2017-19) is currently in his fourth season at Miami (Ohio) University, where he’s recorded ten goals and eleven assists in 85 career games.
  • Joey Strada (2016-19) is currently in his third year in the SPHL, where he’s played in two games for the Peoria Rivermen.
  • Matt Vernon (2017-19) is in his fourth year at Colorado College. So far this year, he’s appeared in nine games, holding a 2.90 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage.
  • Natan Vertes (2019-21) appeared in four games for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks last season before returning to Hungary this season to play with Fehérvár AV19 in the ICEHL. He currently has four goals and six assists in 31 games.
  • Gabe Vinal (2017-18) played for four seasons at Brown University before transferring to Clarkson University this year.
  • Dalton Weigel (2017-19) is in his fourth year at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he has three assists in 35 total games played.
