Wings Split Weekend Series vs. Austin

Friday October 2nd Austin 3 @ Aberdeen 1 – The Austin Bruins defeated the Aberdeen Wings to maintain their winning streak. The game started off slow, with the only goal of the first period coming with only three minutes left. Kyle Sorensen scored to give the Bruins the lead going into intermission. The second period was very similar, as it was a very defensive game. The Wings outshot the Bruins by double in both the first and second periods. It finally paid off when Jonathan Doucette scored for the Wings with two minutes left in the second period. The Bruins started hot in the third period, as Hugo Thulin scored a short-handed goal three minutes in. The Bruins maintained this lead, and Viktor Olihn scored his first goal of the season, an empty-netter, to secure the 3-1 win.  Willum Braun stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced.  

Saturday October 3rd Austin 1 @ Aberdeen 3 – The Aberdeen Wings defeated the Austin Bruins at home after a very physical game. The game started off slowly, as neither team scored in the first period. Then, Brody Dustin was the first to score for the Wings with a power-play goal. Soon after, Brett Ludvigsen tied the game, also on the power play, for the Bruins. The third period was very defensive, with no one scoring until two minutes remained. The Wings went back on the power play again, and Caeden Heins found the back of the net to give Aberdeen the lead. With one second left, Jonathan Doucette scored an empty-netter to secure the 3-1 lead for the Bruins.  Willum Braun stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced 

The Wings will hit the road this weekend for their first true road trip of the season when they take on the St. Cloud Norsemen.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm both nights.  The game can be seen by clicking the away feed on NAHLTV.COM.
