Friday Jan. 19th MN Wilderness 2 @ Aberdeen 3 – The Aberdeen Wings continued their hot streak as they defeated the Wilderness 3-2. John Sladic found twine twice in the Wings win and added an assist on Nic Sicoly’s goal. Sicoly finished the game with a goal and two assists. Gabe Vinal earned the victory as he made 27 saves. Nick Altmann and Ondrej Trejbal scored for the Wilderness as Ryan Fanti made 37 saves.
Saturday Jan. 20th MN Wilderness 3 @ Aberdeen 2 (OT) – Ondrej Trejbal fired home the game winner that ended Aberdeen’s winning streak at the 2:29 mark of overtime. Edward Lindelow and Nicholas Michel scored for the Wilderness in regulation. Ryan Fanti earned his 13th win of the year by making 34 saves. Colton Fletcher and Nic Sicoly potted goals for the Wings while Matt Vernon made 19 saves.
With the 3 point win and Minot upending Austin in regulation the Wings actually increased their Central Division lead to 2 points over the Bruins. The Wings will look to bounce back quick with a 3 game week coming up.
