The Aberdeen Wings proud members of the North American Hockey League are pleased to announce that goaltender Forbes Ploszaj has committed to play DIII Hockey for the College of St. Scholastica.

Ploszaj  a Gilbert, Arizona native, joined the Wings early in the 2016-2017 season coming from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL.  Forbes played in 35 games for the Wings during the regular season earning a 2.45 GAA & a .913 Save %.  For his efforts Forbes was the (NAHL) Central Division Goaltender of the Year last season with the Wings.  In the playoffs Forbes helped lead the Wings to their first Playoff Division Championship and a Robertson Cup Semifinals appearance.  In the playoffs Forbes acquired a 2.13 GAA & a .923 Save % in 12 games played.

“Forbes was a huge part of the Wings turnaround last season.  He is an extremely competitive and hardworking goaltender that has a bright future,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.

St. Scholastica is a DIII hockey program located in Duluth, MN and they are members of the NCHA.  Last season the Saints had a 13-13-1 record and went 10-9-1 in their conference.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Forbes to the Saints Hockey family,” said assistant coach Shawn Bartlette. “Forbes has had a very impressive junior career, he has been a leader on his team and has proven he can play at a high level and be successful. We look forward to seeing him take the next step and help substantiate a strong goaltending corps at St. Scholastica for years to come.”
