Your Aberdeen Wings begin the NAHL Central Division Finals today in Cloquet, MN taking on the Minnesota Wilderness. The Wilderness advanced to the division finals with a 3 games to 2 series win over Brookings. In the 5th and final game of the series the Wilderness put up 6 goals in a 6-3 win. The Wings were able to take down top seeded Minot in just 4 games winning the best of 5 series 3 games to 1. Defense was the name of the game for the majority of round 1 for the Wings. Holding the Minotauros to only 4 goals in the 3 Wings wins. This is the first trip to the Division Finals for the Wings.
During the regular season the two teams met 8 times with each team having a 4-3-1 head to head record. The teams are playing for a spot in the Robertson Cup Finals which will be played May 11-14th in Duluth, MN. Friday & Saturday night the puck will drop at 7:05pm cst.
