Wings Special Jersey Auction – Nov 8

Jun 11, 2014

Each season, the Aberdeen Wings has partnered with an area non-profit organization with the goal in helping those in our communities. The event is held during a home game, where each player wears a special designed Aberdeen Wings jersey with reference to the particular non-profit organization. These jerseys are live auctioned following the game.

On November 8th, the Aberdeen Wings will wear a special jersey (as shown in banner) designed to reflect their partnership with the Aberdeen Area Humane Society, with after-cost proceeds going to the non-profit organization.

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the Aberdeen and surrounding area. They offer a shelter for homeless or neglected animals and pets. Each year, the organization adopts-out nearly 500 pets. They accept dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters.

“It’s a great opportunity to get our name out there,” said Stacey Franks, manager of the Aberdeen Area Humane Society. “This partnership allows us to open our eyes to different opportunities out there.”

In the past seasons, the Aberdeen Wings have held special jersey auctions for non-profit organizations such as Safe Harbor, the Aberdeen Youth Hockey Association, Sanford Health breast cancer patients, and military families.
