Wings Forward Makes D-1 Commitment

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce on behalf of Wings forward Ronnie Hein that he has made a Division I college commitment to Ferris State University.

Hein will be entering his rookie season in the NAHL with the Aberdeen Wings after signing a tender contract last season. During the 2013-2014 season, Hein played for the Lansing Capitals AAA team of the North American Prospects Hockey League. He was the 5th leading scorer in the league gathering up 30 points in 23 games played. He scored 16 goals and 14 assists last season.

"We congratulate Ronnie on his commitment to Ferris State," said Wings head coach Francis Anzalone. "This is a great accomplishment for both Ronnie and his family. Ronnie's future is very bright and we look forward to helping him grow and improve each day."

The Ferris State University Bulldogs made the NCAA Tournament last season, as well as in 2012 and 2003. In 2012, the FSU Bulldogs made the NCAA Frozen Four. Hein will join the team coached by Bob Daniels who is a two-time AHCA Coach of the Year Award winner. Ferris State University plays home games in Big Rapids, Michigan.
