Wings Drop 2 In Austin

Dec 7, 2015

The Aberdeen Wings spent the weekend on the road and ended up coming home empty handed as they dropped both games in Austin Minnesota.  Friday night the Bruins were able to establish themselves early jumping on top just 5 min. into the game.  They would add another before the 1st intermission to take a 2-0 lead into the break.  It was more of the same in the 2nd as Austin added their third and final goal of the contest just over 5 min. into the period.  Aberdeen’s Peter Thome was in net for the Wings and made 31 saves on the 34 shots he faced.

Saturday the Wings were looking for the split but it was more of the same for the Bruins as once again they jumped out early.  Just over 1 min. into the game the Bruins had the lead.  They would add another midway through the 1st to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room.  This time Aberdeen would respond however when Tanner Okeson lit the lamp just 1:32 into the 2nd period.  Assisting on the Okeson goal was Kevin Fitzgerald.  That would be all the offense Aberdeen would get however and Austin would pour it on after that coming away with the 5-1 win.  Gavin Paczosa was in net for the Wings and made 24 saves on 29 shots.
