The Aberdeen Wings relied on the scoring touch of TJ Roo, who netted two goals, to beat the Bismarck Bobcats, 2-1.

Roo scored at 3:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Aberdeen and again while 17:40 into the third to make the score 2-1 Aberdeen.

Aberdeen was led by goalie Chad Catt, who finished with 45 saves while allowing one goal. Catt managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.71 prior to the game.

The Wings’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bismarck power plays. Aberdeen relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Erik Baskin, Jonathan Grebosky and Erik Gollenbeck took 19 of the team’s 37 shots.

In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Ryan Cook and Kyle Haak, who each chipped in one.

The Wings will be at the Odde this Friday and Saturday!  Friday they host the Brookings Blizzard, Sandlot Hockey a short documentary film will be aired in the arena at 6pm.  Saturday Minot is back in town, this will be the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to help stock local food pantry’s before the holidays!  Bring a non-perishable food item and receive $2 off admission at the door!
