WINGS WIN 6-3, Eichstadt 2 Goals

The Aberdeen Wings were in action Thursday night in Brookings and would come away with a 6-3 win.

Just minutes inside the 1st period, #9 Patrick Steinhauser (F-Plymouth, MN) would put the Wings on the board early with a goal, 1-0. Assist coming from #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA). Right before the end of the period, on a wild play, #2 Ryan Cook (D-Buffalo, NY) would score his first goal of the season putting the Wings up 2-0, assist from #27 Erik Baskin (F-Minnetonka, MN). At the start of the 2nd period, Brookings would get on the board. But only seconds later, #24 Jonathan Grebosky would score, Wings 3-1 assist from #9 Patrick Steinhauser. The 3rd period would be all about scoring. #3 Daniel Billet (D-Highlands Ranch, CO) would score a goal at the 7:46 mark making it 4-1, assists from #2 Ryan Cook and #22 Zach Doerring (F-Chanhassen, MN). But Brookings would answer with two goals of their own, 4-3. Towards the end of the game, #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN) would score from the blue line for his first goal of the season, 5-3, assist from #19 Colin O’Neill (F-Odenton, MD). Seconds later, on the power play, Eichstadt would score again with the assist from #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) was the winning goalie for the Wings.

The Wings are back in action this Saturday at ‘The Odde’ for Safe Harbor Night. October is “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” and the Aberdeen Wings players will be wearing special purple jerseys to honor Safe Harbor and their mission. The jerseys will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds going to Safe Harbor. Stop down at Tapz for the pre-game party, ride the Wings bus to ‘The Odde’, cheer on your NAHL Aberdeen Wings, then ride the Wings bus back to Tapz for the official post game party.
