Wings Win 5-3 vs. Brookings

Friday night, the Aberdeen Wings snapped their losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Brookings Blizzard on the road.

The Wings went down 1-0 in the first period after a goal from Ryan Sete. They would give up another goal at the start of the 2nd period to Colton Schmidt. At the 6:40 mark, Aberdeen Wings forward #24 Ronnie Hein (F-Chelsea, MI) would find the back of the net thanks to assists from #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland) and #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI). Now 2-1, the Wings would score again, this time on the power play. #10 Tanner Okeson (D-Roseau, MN) would score with an assist from #13 Michael Soucier (F-Caledon, Ontario). Brookings would score to regain the lead 3-2 towards the end of the period.

The third period would be all Aberdeen Wings. At the 5:04 mark, Wings captain #16 Kyle Haak would score with assists from #24 Ronnie Hein and #15 Brendan Riordan (D-Downers Grove, IL). Again on the power play, Wings defenseman #10 Tanner Okeson would score his 2nd goal of the game with assists from #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson and #7 Zac Goodrich (D-White Lake, MI). With seconds left in the game, the Wings would seal the victory with an empty net goal from #12 Austin Heakins (F-Pittsburgh, PA) and assist to #15 Brendan Riordan.
