Wings Win 5-1 vs. Brookings

Saturday night the Aberdeen Wings took on the Brookings Blizzard at the Odde Ice Center. The Wings would lay it on in the third period for a 5-1 win.

In the first period, on the power play at the 12:10 mark, Wings forward #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI) would score thanks to assists from #10 Tanner Okeson (D-Roseau, MN) and #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA). The Wings would lead 1-0 after the first.

The second period would get much more physical. Early on, the Wings would go up 2-0 thanks to a goal from #15 Jordan Heller (F-Bemidji, MN) with an assist from #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland). Brookings would answer with a goal of their own from Jared Goudreau. The second period would end with four players in the penalty box and the Wings up 2-1.

The third period would see high scoring from the Aberdeen Wings. At the 14:14 mark, Wings forward #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN) would score thanks to assists from #15 Jordan Heller and #7 Matt Brettingen (D-St. Cloud, MN). 10 seconds later, the Wings would get an unassisted goal on a blast from #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). With just over two minutes left, #15 Jordan Heller would score his second goal of the game. #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) was in goal for the Wings, stopping 28 of 29 shots.
