Wings Sign NA3HL Forward

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League announced today the signing of NA3HL forward Travis Kothenbeutel. The 1997-born forward is currently with the Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL, a tier-3 affiliate league to the NAHL.

Kothenbeutel joined the Granite City Lumberjacks after completing his high school season with the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm where he scored 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points this season. In just 24 games with Granite City he has tallied 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points.

“Travis is a quick player who is crafty in tight spaces and sees the ice well,” said Francis Anzalone, Director of Player Personnel for the Aberdeen Wings. “His skill set fits a piece we are looking for as we build for the 2014-2015 season.”

“We are excited to use our NA3HL tender (limited number each season) on a player with Travis’ character and ability,” said Wings head coach Travis Winter. “He is a young player who is still very much at the beginning of his hockey journey. We look forward to helping him grow his game.”
