Wings Prepare For Pre-Draft Camp

Apr 13, 2015

With the season over for the Aberdeen Wings, there is no off-season for the coaching and scouting staffs.

In preparation for the Aberdeen Wings Pre-Draft Evaluation Camp in May, the scouting staff will be compiling their notes with the Wings coaching staff. Many phone calls and visits will be made to potential recruits, some of whom are competing in hockey finals across the nation.

The Pre-Draft Evaluation Camp is an open tryout which will be held May 22-24 at the St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Players with intentions of playing junior hockey, Division-I or Division-III college hockey are encouraged to sign up for the camp. You can find full camp information and a link to registration on the bottom of this page.

Wings forward #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland) was discovered at the Pre-Draft Evaluation Camp in the 2013 off-season. Sigurdarson was welcomed back to Main Camp and impressed the coaches and scouts. He went on to score 13 goals and 25 assists for the Wings in the 2013-2014 campaign. This season he tallied 14 goals and 17 assists for the Wings.

The Pre-Draft Evaluation Camp already has met its registration limit on goaltenders, but if you would like to be put on a contact list, please email Mike Grattan, Aberdeen Wings Director of Scouting at mgrattan@aberdeenwings.com.
