Wings Lose 3-1, Minot Breaks Record

Saturday night, the Aberdeen Wings were in action against the Minot Minotauros. The Wings scored two quick goals but couldn’t hold the lead the previous night. The Minotauros tied the NAHL record for consecutive road wins with 14 straight. Saturday, 1,370 Wings fans jammed the Odde Ice Center.

In the first period, the Wings would get the lead again. At 11:47 mark, Wings forward #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland) would find a loose puck in front of the net with an assist from #10 Tanner Okeson (D-Roseau, MN). The Wings outshot the Minotauros 7-5 in the first period going into the locker room with the 1-0 lead.

In the second period, the Minotauros would score three unanswered goals from Dittel, Monfils, and Mohs. Despite playing for the perfect shot, the Wings would be outshot 17-7 in the second period. The third period would be a back and forth battle with neither team getting a solid scoring opportunity. The Wings would lose 3-1, swept by Minot at home. The victory for Minot would give them the new NAHL record for most consecutive road wins with 15.
