The Aberdeen Wings (1-4-0) closed out the 2016 NAHL Showcase Saturday with a 3-2 loss to the Coulee Region Chill (2-2-0). Aberdeen trailed after the 1st intermission 1-0 but was able to tie the game in the 2nd with a shot from Gage Mackie with an assist going to Carson Dimoff. Before the end of the 2nd the Chill was able to retake the lead 2-1 heading into the 3rd. The Wings were able to tie things up in the 3rd with a shot from the stick of Jack Kelly, with Nick Jenny assisting. That was all the offense for Aberdeen as Coulee Region was able to get a late goal and take the game 3-2. RJ Pluhar was in net for the Wings and finished with 25 saves on 28 shots.
The Wings will return to divisional play the coming Friday and Saturday when they travel up North to take on Minot Minotauros (4-0-0). Minot ended the Showcase with the only perfect 4-0 and the Showcase Tournament title.
