The Aberdeen Wings coming off a 2-1 win over Janesville yesterday at the NAHL Showcase…didn't miss a beat!

Earlier this morning (Thursday), the Aberdeen Wings took on the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in their second game of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. Just like their game against Janesville, the Wings were hot in the first period scoring two goals. At the 12:56 mark, Wings defenseman #4 Jake Horton blasted a rocket from the blue line past the goalie to give Aberdeen a 2-0 lead, assist from #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN).

The Wings would surrender a goal to Rio Grande Valley at the 11:36 mark of the 2nd period, but as soon the puck would drop with one pass, Wings forward #25 Lennart Palausch (F-Mannheim, Germany) would answer making the score 3-1, the assist would go to #19 Colin O'Neill (F-Odenton, MD). Wings goalie #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) would pick up a slashing call and Rio Grande Valley would go on the powerplay, scoring their second goal of the game making the score 3-2.

In the 3rd period, both teams struggled to create any offensive play. Finally at 5:20 mark, Wings forward #14 Erik Gollenbeck (F-Mannheim, Germany) would score his first goal of the season making it 4-2, with the assist from #19 Colin O'Neill. The Wings were outshot by Rio Grande Valley 26-15, but Aberdeen would come away with the victory.
