The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce that forward #9 Patrick Steinhauser (F-Plymouth, MN) has committed to play Division I collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University.

Steinhauser, a 1993 born forward, has played in 92 games during his Aberdeen Wings career scoring a total 11 goals and 21 points. He also spent time in the NAHL with the Coulee Region Chill and Wichita Falls Wildcats before coming to Aberdeen.

“We are excited for Pat and the opportunity given to him at St. Lawrence University,” said Wings head coach Travis Winter. “St. Lawrence is a great school with a strong hockey tradition and we wish him the best of luck.”

The St. Lawrence University Saints are currently ranked 33rd among all Division I collegiate hockey programs. The Saints hockey team has moved many players into the NHL and professionally world-wide including Dallas Stars center Rich Peverley and Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Bollig. The Saints hockey team plays in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) where they have made 9 appearances to the NCAA Frozen Four and 16 NCAA Championship tournament appearances.

Steinhauser becomes now the 19th current/former Aberdeen Wings player to commit to a Division I program since the team’s inaugural season in 2010. He also becomes the 7th player this season to commit to a Division I hockey program.
