Shortridge Receives NAHL Star Of The Week

The North American Hockey League announced their Easton Divisional Stars of the Week on Monday. Among those were two Aberdeen Wings players receiving honors including the top honor for the NAHL Central Division.

Wings goaltender #35 Andrew Shortridge (G-Eagle River, AK) received the top honor of the NAHL Central Division Star of the Week. The Wings swept the Minot Minotauros over the weekend on the road in a 4-3 shootout win and 1-0 shutout win. Shortridge was the winning goaltender in both games and is currently 6-3-0 on the season with a 1.53 goals against average and 94.3% save percentage. Saturday night’s 1-0 shutout victory was Shortridge’s 2nd NAHL career shutout and he is the #2 ranked goaltender in the North American Hockey League.

Wings forward #13 Michael Soucier (F-Caledon, Ontario) also received an honorable mention for his two goals, one assist, and 1 shootout score over the weekend. Soucier is a Division I commitment to Bemidji State University. He is currently 3rd on the Wings roster in points scored with 5 goals and 7 assists.

The Aberdeen Wings take on the Minnesota Wilderness at home this Friday and Saturday.
